Every year on December 26th, Milo the dog woke up excited. Today is his birthday! Milo was a small, adorable beagle with brown and gold fur. He was very friendly and loving, and he always looked forward to his birthday.
Milo usually received birthday wishes from his friends and family. They would come to his house and give him gifts, play together, and eat cake. Milo loved his birthday, because it was a day to be with the people he loved.
But this year, things were different. No one sent Milo a birthday wish. His friends were all busy with work or school. His family was also busy with their own plans.
Milo felt very sad. He lay on the couch, looking out the window, and wondered why no one remembered his birthday.
